WhatsApp will start sharing its users’ personal information, including phone numbers, IP addresses, contacts, and more with Facebook from February 8 2021, according to the new Terms and Conditions.

The Facebook-owned company has given its users no opt-out options on this, with the only way to object being to leave the service and move to competitive services like Signal or Telegram.

“As part of the Facebook Companies, WhatsApp receives information from, and shares information with, the other Facebook Companies,” read a statement given to all the users on Thursday morning.

“We may use the information we receive from them, and they may use the information we share with them, to help operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our Services and their offerings, including the Facebook Company Products,” WhatsApp added.

The end-to-end encrypted instant messaging app had gained respect over the years for keeping its users’ personal info private.

But from its recent developments, that seems to be a thing of the past now for the slowly repositioning app.

What it means for its users is, they can either agree to the new terms or buzz off.

And for those who still want to keep the application, they should be prepared to give up their status updates, profile pictures, contact lists, phone numbers, IP addresses that give one’s location, as well as data about one’s about their mobile devices, such as model numbers, operating system versions, and network carrier details, to the mothership.

  1. The Barstewards at Apple are about to de-platform Telegram from the App Store.
    Stop it by:
    Go to Settings/Screen Time
    Click Content & Privacy Restrictions
Click Top Right Content & Privacy Restrictions (Go Green!!)
Go to iTunes & App Store Purchases
Dont allow Deleting Apps and In-App Purchases

    Problem solved.
